Northeast Omaha High Rate Treatment Basin (NEOHRTB)

Overview

The Northeast Omaha High Rate Treatment Basin (NEOHRTB) is a critical infrastructure investment designed to address high-volume outfalls along the Missouri River and enhance water quality in the Minne Lusa and Burt-Izard basins in Northeast Omaha.

This project directly supports the City’s obligation to meet the 85% combined sewer overflow (CSO) volume capture requirement outlined in the EPA’s CSO Control Policy Consent Order.
Identified in the 2021 CSO Long Term Control Plan Update as a key alternative to the Deep Tunnel, the NEOHRTB will include four diversion structures, shallow conveyance sewers, grit and screening facilities, a deep conveyance sewer and a high-rate treatment basin located north of Abbott Drive between 6th and 11th Streets, near the Omaha Levee.

Stakeholders are invited from 4:00 - 5:00 pm and the general public are invited from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the project, ask questions, and meet with the project team.
